Following the annual annual summer trend, Chase has brought back the increased sign up bonus for the United MileagePlus Explorer Card of 50,000 points + 5,000 for adding an authorized user. The offer includes a $50 statement credit, but the annual fee of $95 is not waived the first year. The offer ends 6/30.
There is currently a 70,000 point offer for the MileagePlus Card that seems to be targeted. You can follow the link and log into your MileagePlus account to see if you are indeed targeted for this offer. According to Doctor of Credit, some users have had success applying for the card (50k offer) and sending a secure message to Chase to match the 70K offer. It’s definitely worth a shot!
Bottom Line:
With Chase’s new 5/24 rule, I have become a lot more selective about the cards I choose to apply for. A 55k point offer + $50 statement credit is a solid offer. But if you’re targeted for the 75k offer or manage to get Chase to match it, I would say it’s a no brainer. Holding the Chase United MileagePlus Explorer offers many perks like free checked bags, priority boarding, and lounge passes. But one other great perk is the increased award availability for cardholders. It makes finding and redeeming your award flights so much easier! So if you’re in the market for a new card, now would be the time to pull the trigger.
