Update: Deal is dead!
Today I received an email from Delta offering 50,000 points and a $50 statement credit until 12/21. A similar offer was made available quite recently, but it reverted back to its original 30,000 point sign up offer. I’m generally not the biggest fan of Delta’s Skymiles rewards program, but I’m warming up to it a little with some good value on one-way routes that will become bookable as of 1/1/15.
You can fly in business on Virgin Australia for only 80,000 points. Or fly business on Virgin Atlantic to London for 62,500 points one way. There are definitely some sweet spots in their award chart that can be had, and I like the fact that Delta doesn’t charge a $75-$80 fee for booking an award within 3 weeks of the flight (as most other major airlines do).
So if you’re thinking of shoring up some Delta Skymiles and you haven’t had the Gold Delta Skymiles Amex card before, now may be a good time to job on this offer before it disappears!
Just a heads up anybody can get this offer, not targeted.
By targeted I meant the email was targeted with a link to the 50k app, which obviously is available for anyone once they click the link.
