Back in April, my family and I booked our first-ever trip to Asia with an itinerary to visit Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Thailand. With our first stop being in Tokyo, I wanted my family to take advantage of a nice hotel on the first night of our arrival to really take in and enjoy the Japanese culture and the amazing service I had heard about from friends. I had heard great things about the Park Hyatt Tokyo and when my mom heard about the prospect of staying in the hotel featured in the movie: Lost In Translation, she was more excited than all of us. But a hotel that can run for $600+ a night, I commissioned my brothers, my dad, and I, to get our first Chase Hyatt Credit Cards and complete the $1,000 spend asap so we could receive 2 free nights each at any Hyatt in the world. We all managed to do it in time for our trip and we found award availability for the night that we were arriving! Gotta love that Chase Hyatt sign up bonus incentive…2 free nights at any Hyatt can be magical if you stay at a category 7 hotel.

The Park Hyatt Tokyo sits at the top of a major high rise building in Shinjuku with floors 39 to 52 belonging to the hotel. As soon as we arrived straight from Narita Airport, we had 3 personal hotel concierge waiting for our arrival and escorted us up to the lobby, checked us in, gave us a tour of the hotel, and walked us to our room. It happened to be my brother’s birthday the day that we arrived and they delivered some decadent chocolate truffles to our room…now that’s service!

My mom and I headed to the bar for a late night drink and enjoyed a beautiful view of the city. Below is a photo of the view taken during the day:

We upgraded to a three-bed room that was elegant and the beds were extremely comfortable after a long flight to Asia and no sleep for over 24 hours. On the way to your room, you pass by a dimly lit library where I spent almost an hour perusing and enjoying the little nooks and crannies throughout the hotel:

The hotel’s gym also overlooks the city and you can enjoy running the treadmill while taking in the awesome sights of Tokyo’s skyline:

Overall, the park Hyatt Tokyo was most memorable for the unbelievable customer service and attention to detail. We noticed throughout our stay in Japan that the Japanese treat their customers, tourists, and guests with utmost respect and their attention to detail makes you feel like royalty. The Park Hyatt Tokyo takes this to another level and it does not disappoint in that respect. The hotel has a very elegant and luxurious feel throughout and is not your typical hotel as it shares the building with the lower floors belonging to businesses. The views throughout are breathtaking and although we only spent one night at the hotel, the Park Hyatt Tokyo is a memorable experience for all who visit it. If you are looking for a hotel with extreme attention to detail and a luxurious or romantic feel with great views of the Tokyo skyline, the Park Hyatt Tokyo is definitely the hotel for you!
