In the second review of the Barclays Credit Card Review Series, I took a look at the US Airways® Premier World MasterCard®. As we approach the American Airlines and US Airways merger, this might be one of the last few times to grab this card before it may be discontinued. When it comes to Barclays credit cards, I recommend applying for a few of their cards to avoid multiple credit pulls and to increase your chances of getting accepted as Barclays has recently cracked down on card churners (those that apply for the card and close it every couple of months to receive the bonus multiple times). For another great Barclays card to apply with the US Airways® Premier World MasterCard®, read about the Barclaycard Arrival™ Plus World Elite MasterCard®. Also, read about the multiple browser method to apply for multiple credit cards from the same bank in one day and receive only one credit pull!

As American Airlines and US Airways combine, your points will soon have access to the largest award flight network in the world. If you want to start accumulating points in this massive network, applying for the US Airways® Premier World MasterCard® and accumulating US Airways Dividend miles before the reward programs merge is a great start. If you are looking to make this one of your primary spending cards, you can earn 10,000 Preferred miles after spending $25,000 per calendar year that count towards reaching elite status.
I personally don’t fly US Airways very often, but I really like American Airlines’ reward program and I’m looking to accumulate as many AAdvantage points as I can to take advantage of their great off-peak award tickets. Another great way to accumulate AAdvantage points, is to jump on the lucrative 100,000 Citi Executive World Elite MasterCard that is being offered for a limited time. So if you’re looking to start saving points for a big trip on the new American Airlines, the US Airways® Premier World MasterCard® is a definitely a good card for you.
